I'm not really all that mysterious

First of the Month

What I Was Listening to at Barnes and Noble: “Fields of Gold,” “Time After Time,” and “How Can I Keep From Singing” by Eva Cassidy

Wake up, wake up, wake up….

I don’t know. Maybe sometimes the universe does listen. After my pathetic lamentation from yesterday, it seems that Nature has changed her mind and decided to extend summer by a day, maybe more. I went outside this morning and was pleasantly surprised that it was 70 degrees and sunny. The leaves are starting to turn, so it’s kind of bizarre, but you won’t find me complaining if the weather stays like this….

A random snippet….

Andy (not my new roommate): If only that brain of yours could be used for good….

Me: If only.

(Exchange after I made some drunken comment involving strip clubs and creative places to put credit card mag-stripe readers….)

Now, if only I can keep disciplined for the next four weeks…. I find it frighteningly ironic that I feel more at ease on a regular schedule. Not to say that I was completely happy about having to study for six hours straight, but, strangely, my heart was at ease. I’ve been quietly remembering all the little things I’ve learned these past four months or so, tragedies non-withstanding.

So it’s all good for now. I don’t know what it is. If it’s the weather, or just the music, or what. Hmmm. Wish I could collect this stuff in a bottle and save it for the dry times, whatever it is….
