Scrawlings
I am so tired. There were things I would like to scrawl down. If only it were possible to write while driving.
Quickly, ere they evaporate:
Things I learned from appyling to med school (or things that were reinforced [by the ordeal process]):
- humility: I am not invincible, nor am I the most intelligent person in the world
- the System cares nothing for unrecognized effort. No rewards will be given to the [person] who works behind the scenes. Resumés are more important than working hard at something you love [without achieving anything tangible.]
Things I’ve learned in med school so far:
- How you treat people is more significant than what you know
- Not many people like learning things.
Other ideas: I’ve alluded to this already — it’s strange that it hadn’t hit me until now.
California is Eriador (and Gondor too, I suppose) Davis is the Shire. The Bay Area [corresponds to] the Havens, [Greater] L.A. is all of Gondor, San Diego (or Tijuana?) must be Umbar. I-5 is the Greenway, I-80 is the Great Rodad, Donner Pass is the High Pass. Sacramento is Bree. More later, I’m sure.
