Still going through my old posts and I remembered this song. It's kind of been my unofficial theme song for the last decade and a half or so. I can never remember how many "please"s are in the title.

I'm sitting here in the dark, totally drunk, recounting my failures and losses. There are a lot of places where it went totally wrong, but I find myself lingering on one of the milestones that I choose to remember. A. I loved you in my fashion. But that is neither here nor there.

I could be coping better. This is not going well at all.

One day shall come a dawn where I do not see the sunset
a summer after which I need not endure the autumn
my last memories will be of the hot breath of the Santa Ana winds

Let’s just say that it’s been a long week and circumstance has been rapidly draining me of any semblance of optimism. I know that things really don’t change just because you want them to, but it’s not the easiest thing to accept that this is the way things are supposed to be.
